8-Bit Commando is a tribute to super-tough 8-bit 80s classics like Contra. Run, jump, shoot the the right, and don't die! This beta is only one level long, but it should challenge even the most hardcore gamers.
With simple controls - cursors for movement, Z and X for shooting and jumping 8-Bit Commando looks like it should be a breeze. But you soon learn that the one-shot-kill, no saves and various traps mean that survival requires the utmost care and accuracy!
If 8-Bit Commando's brutal difficulty sounds off-putting, then it's simply not the game for you. It's been designed to emulate the challenge of early games, which is something it achieves. Older gamers will enjoy the nostalgia, but younger players may wonder why on Earth people played these unfair arcade games!
